Course programme

You can put up wallpaper and paint but can you suss out curtains and blinds? Rather than heading to everyone’s favourite Swedish store, take windows into your own hands and learn the ins and outs of curtain and blind making at Ministry of Craft. We’ll help you understand different types of curtains and blinds, how to get fullness and use linings as well as the all-important calculation of fabrics from measurements. The first session will be all about blinds and we’ll talk you through the steps of making a roman blind, from measurements to construction. Moving onto curtains, in the second session, we’ll help you to sew a ‘mini’ curtain and teach you how to insert a lining, discuss header tapes and how to use fabrics and trims for different effects. Armed with a whole host of hints and tips you’ll never need to buy curtains or blinds again.
