Introduction to Footwear Design

This shoe design course will immerse you in the world of footwear design, and provide you with an introduction to designing for the footwear market. We'll address the tricky challenge of designing footwear that's not only practical but fashionable also. Through practical exercises and focused discussions, you'll really get under the skin of the footwear design process.

The course includes:

• How to develop your design ideas
• Visual communication and illustration skills through traditional skills and digital design
• Design development process
• Story/mood boards
• Range building
• Decoding trends and fashion predictions

Drawing and presentation will be covered in a series of technical workshops. This is a design course and doesn't involve footwear construction. In order to get the most out of the course, some independent study outside of the course hours may be required.

Beginners. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.

Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online or via the phone using a credit or debit card. There is no deadline for booking. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and all courses have a maximum number of students. We suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.
