Course programme

The Introduction to Forensic Science – Level 3 Course is a fascinating course designed to give students an introduction to forensics and how it is used to provide information and support to criminal investigations.

Forensic science is concerned with using scientific methods either in public, in a court, or in the justice system as a whole. In fact, any science used for the purposes of the law is forensic science and its prime function is to provide evidence to support criminal investigations. Whilst this course will not enable you to step into a forensic scientist’s job! it will give students a thorough understanding of relevant aspects of Criminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, as well as an introduction to the world of forensics. Forensic Science has become a hugely popular subject in recent years, partly because of exposure of popular television programmes, but also because of the rapid changes in the technology which is now available to forensic scientists and this course will provide invaluable insights into this complex world.
