Level 1 is ideal if you're just starting out in hair and beauty and want an understanding of the industry - enough to succeed in a job in the area or to move on to further study
You will be enrolled on a Study Programme which will include mandatory attendance on your vocational course and English and Maths if required following assessment, as well as engagement in work experience and enterprise activities throughout the duration of the course.

Salon Assistant;
Receptionist.


You'll require English and Maths at GCSE Grades 3-1 (D-G) plus two further GCSEs at Grade 2 (F).

A satisfactory school reference and attendance report is also required.

You will study a variety of units relating to Hairdressing and these may include:

Course Assessment Method

Assessment is continuous throughout the academic year and you will complete treatments on peers and clients alike. After each assessment you will be given feedback from your tutor to give you the knowledge required to make any improvements ready for summative assessments. When you are ready for final assessment you will be assessed in a practical environment as you complete the practical treatments on salon clients.

All 13 units require you to complete a written assignment. You will be given the detailed information required to support you with research and fact finding in preparation for each assignment.

All assignments will have their own individual deadline date for submission. This will then be marked and you will received feedback on your submission within 14 days of the hand-in date.
