INTRODUCTION TO THE INTERNET & E-MAIL (LEISURE)

Course Aims:
This hands-on course is designed for participants who are new to internet and e-mail usage but who already have basic computer skills.

Course Content:
- To develop competence in the basic use of computers and computer terminology
- To develop an understanding of what the internet is and how it works
- Search engines and effective searching techniques
- Viruses, Firewalls, Spam and other internet jargon explained
- E-Mail accounts explained Web based Vs Application based
- E-mail security

Progression:
Learners can progress to a Second Steps in IT or CLAIT course (depending on skills and knowledge).

Exam:
This is a leisure course and as such, there are no formal assessments.
