· The processes required for forging good relationships

Two Day Content
Based on a motoring metaphor the course content will include:
Getting on the Road: Resourcing Choosing when, how many and what sorts of people a business needs; recruitment, selection and induction.
Improving Performance: Performance Management Organising people; motivating them; appraisal; training and development; attendance management.
Fuel Systems: Reward Content of the reward package; reward structures; pay for performance; sick pay.
Servicing: Good employee relations Communication and involvement; grievance handling; incapability, misconduct and dismissal.
Rules of the Road Forming a contract and changing it; working time and leave; discrimination; redundancy; union recognition; data protection
Course Design and Methodology
Each day will be a combination of:
· Lecturer input - but very participative and interactive for the participants
· Practical exercises
· Syndicate work, including some role play
· Small group and one-to-one working
· Quizzes and questionnaires
