Do you own a 4 wheel drive vehicle but have never taken it off road? If so this may be just the course you are looking for! Designed as an introduction to taking your vehicle onto a range of challenging terrains, it introduces the candidate to the basic techniques of off-road driving. The content will include checking the vehicle and its suitability for the conditions, tyres, low ratio gears, differential locks and traction control. All of these will be explained before you set off to drive and if required the instructor will give a demonstration drive for you. Scenarios you will encounter will include soft surfaces, dry sand, slippery surfaces, rough tracks, ascending, descending and traversing slopes.
This course is more suited to personal and leisure usage of a 4 wheel drive vehicle. More advanced and industrial type training can be arranged by request
Entry Criteria / Additional Information
Candidates must hold a current driving licence and are expected to bring their own vehicle covered by a valid insurance policy. The course layout may be suited to 2 candidates being able to use one vehicle provide they are both covered on the one insurance policy eg. Father and son. There is a reduction of 20% on the second person’s course fee in this instance
