Course structure

This course is designed to provide an:

  • introduction to plastic materials
  • insight into their structure/properties relationship
  • introduction to shaping techniques of plastics
  • opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in testing plastics

The course is based around a series of lectures and practical sessions with opportunities for discussion, covering the following:

  • Introduction to Polymer Science, Materials & Properties
  • Introduction to Polymer Processing
  • Practical sessions: material identification, processability/flow properties, mechanical properties

This course is supported by the British Plastics Federation (BPF).
