The Objective of this course is to enable understudies to understand, calculate and interpret measures for the centre and spread of a data set, Identify when correlation and regression analyses are appropriate, Calculate and interpret correlation coefficient and regression line equations, Discuss issues associated with collecting and interpreting data from sample surveys and polls, Set up a basic simulation model, Discuss the concept of a sampling distribution, Formulate null and alternative hypotheses, Conduct hypothesis tests for population proportions and means.
This is a short term course with the following Contents : Random Variables and Expectation, Densities and distributions, Independence, Conditioning, Special probability distributions, Sampling and sampling distributions, Summarizing sample data, Point Estimation, Hypothesis Testing. The introduction of this course enables us to understand the methods and concepts of Statistics and the Various topics such as variability, randomness, and probability.
