This course introduces the main principles of floral design. Whether you have a keen personal interest in floristry or would like to pursue a new career in this area, our course is the ideal starting point. With the help of an expert tutor, you'll develop a range of new skills and technique, allowing you to create beautiful arrangements, bouquets and wreaths for any occasion.
Subjects covered include: the basics of design; selecting and caring for flowers from grower to shop; understanding flowers; using and caring for foliage; using moss; silks and dried flowers; ribbons and bases; using spices, fruit and herbs; wedding flowers; birthdays and birth celebrations; special occasions; funeral flowers; advanced designs; the floristry business; working with clients; marketing and management.
The course includes all study material, course textbook, The Beginner's Guide to Floristry, a detailed guide to study skills, and full tutorial support from your expert personal tutor.
On successful completion of the course students are awarded a Learning Curve certificate. Learning Curve is accredited as a training provider by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council.
Our course is composed of 12 easy-to-follow modules. There are 12 tutor-marked assignments. It involves approximately 60 hours of study time.
