Develop strategies to keep the foster child safe from abuse by adults & others, and the foster family safe from false allegations of abuse. Explore family values in relation to the principles of safe caring. Be able to prepare their home & family to provide a safe environment for the foster child & themselves. Acknowledge safe caring in respect of the child, family environment & social interaction. Suitable for: This one day course is suitable for all childcare professionals at every professional level who are involved in the day-to-day care of children, e.g. social services, fostering and adoption, private and voluntary sectors etc.
About this course
The only requirement for this course is that participants are childcare professionals. You will need between 12 and 25 delegates to run this course.

ABOUT THE COURSE
This safe caring course aims to familiarise participants with the potential risks associated with caring for children and young people particularly those who present emotional and behavioural concerns.
We recognise that carers are all individual with different approaches to caring. We will enable all participants to develop distinct forms of safe care with which they identify and which holds significance to their lifestyles, family structure and personal values.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course participants will:
On completion of the course delegates are provided with course materials and are awarded a certificate. The training will commence at 9:30am and finish at 3:30pm. This course runs with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 25 delegates.
