This programme offers opportunities for senior dental nurses to develop a range of skills and knowledge to and build their confidence by knowing how to use best practice techniques for leading and developing teams of dental nurses. This programme offers 6 weeks of study (18 Guided Learning hours) covering:
• The Dental Education Domains
• Lead roles in dental teams
• Leadership styles for Lead dental nurses
• Management approaches for Lead dental nurses
• Communication Skills for Lead dental nurses
Based on the four education domains stipulated by the General Dental Council this introductory programme focuses on the following three domains:

Aims
• Introduce the nature and extent of extended duties and lead roles for dental nurses.
• Define lead roles in dental teams
• Identify leadership and management approaches
• Consider a range of communication skills
As a result of studying on this introductory course student will be able to:
• Recognise how to meet the GDC’s requirements for dental nurses in leadership and management roles
• Specify the lead dental nurse role in their team
• Apply a range of leadership and management skills
• Determine communication techniques for the delivery of high quality dental care to patients

This Introductory Couse is not a qualification, however the work and course fee can be progresses on into the Level 4 Certificate in Team leading Skills for Dental Nurses
This programme is the first of a generation of programmes developed in the line the GDC's New Educational Standards and Enhanced CPD Requirements

Staged payments are available with £45 deposit paid on booking and the remainder of the course fee on invoice after 1 month
