Introduction to Tiling

What You’ll Learn

Able Skills own introductory to Wall and Floor Tiling course has been recognised by City & Guilds as being comprehensive enough to warrant City & Guilds certification: C&G 4555-08; so at the end of this Tiling course you will receive a City & Guilds certificate to confirm the skills that you will have learned.

During this 5 day Tiling course you will cover aspects such as preparing your area, setting out, cutting and laying tiles and finishing (grouting and cleaning). We will teach you all about the different adhesives and tiles available and we will explain all of the tools used to complete a tiling installation. You will learn floor and wall tiling including how to tile around windows and reveals, socketed areas and splash-backs.

How You’ll Learn

You will learn by way of practical demonstration and application, under supervision of experienced Tiling instructors. This course is entirely hands-on and you will be tiling within minutes of arriving on the course.

Courses Open To You After

The natural progression after this course is the Advanced Tiling option. You can consider this as a stand-alone option or you can complete this as part of the many packages that we have available – really depends just how much you want to learn. We have a City & Guilds Tiling Course, NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 Tiling options available.

Additional Info

If you decide to upgrade to any of the packages listed above, we will deduct this week from the package and deduct the cost as well – there will be no need to repeat this week and you can just move on to the next stage.

This option to achieve a City & Guilds 4555-08 Tiling certificate is also available over 2 consecutive weekends.

All tools and materials are provided throughout the course, you will just need to ensure that you have suitable clothing and protective footwear (mandatory).

If you would like to view the facilities at Able Skills, please feel free to visit us at any time. We are open 7 days every week and encourage visitors to the centre. You will not need an appointment, just turn up (08.30 – 16.30) and we will show you around. If you live further afield, we can offer accommodation on a room only basis at £20 per night.

Duration & Cost

The cost for this City & Guilds certificated Tiling course is £350.00 including VAT. A £150.00 deposit will secure a booking and the balance can be paid on the start date.
