Course ContentDuring the 8
weeks of the course the following following aspects of creative writing
will be covered:
Creating Characters

Describing characters

Placing characters in a given scenario
Composing an imaginative story

Plan your story

Research a location

Write an imaginative story
Using observed events and emotions to enhance your writing

Describe events and incidents in your own lives

Describe your feelings about these events

Using the first and third person correctly
Compare and contrast texts written in both the first and third person

Describe an incident in your own life (using first person viewpoint)

Describe an incident happening to someone else (using third person
viewpoint)
This is an introductory course that will trigger ideas for writing and
provide an opportunity for you to share your work with the group if you
wish.
Course AssessmentAssessment is made through tutor
observation, student participation, and the submission of a piece of
writing.
Additional QualificationYou will receive a
nationally recognised Open College Network (OCN) qualification upon
successful completion.
