Introduction To Microsoft Project
This course is offered as an open public course from our Solihull, Bristol or Bracknell training centres.
 
Course content:
Unit 1 objectives
Apply project management concepts
Start Project 2003, open an existing project file, and navigate different views
Use the Project 2003 Help features
Create and save a new project file
Close a project file and close Project 2003
 
Unit 2 objectives
Create a task list in Gantt Chart view by entering the task name and duration
Modify a task list by inserting and deleting tasks
Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) by adjusting the task hierarchy
 
Unit 3 objectives
Create task relationships by linking, add predecessors and lead time to tasks, and add recurring tasks
Explore Network Diagram view and modify the task relationships in it
Use the Task Information dialog box to add advanced task information
 
Unit 4 objectives
Use the Change Working Time dialog box to create a base calendar for a project
Use the resource sheet to create a resource pool, assign resources to tasks, and create a task calendar
Enter resource costs in Resource Sheet view and use the Cost table in Gantt Chart view
 
Unit 5 objectives
Work with Calendar and form views
Create and modify tables
 
Unit 6 objectives
Use standard filters and AutoFilters to view data, and create an interactive filter
Use predefined groups and create a custom group
Sort task and resource data

Display critical path and edit effort-driven schedules to fine tune a project
