What will I study?
This course is for those who are interested in working with
young people and helping to address some of the basic issues that
affect them. You will develop a basic understanding of the youth
work sector, and different youth work settings. You will complete
at least 40 hours of supervised work placement and develop your
personal skills including communications, numeracy and IT skills.
Assessment will include: assignments, workplace supervision
reports, observations reports of group work and role plays.

What can I do next?

This can lead to the opportunity to progress on to a number of
Level 2 courses in Youth Work, Childcare and Education or Health
and Social Care. This can also lead to paid work within the youth
work sector or as a volunteer on youth programmes and community
projects.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need basic skills in written English, good attendance
and be able to demonstrate a commitment to study. You must also
possess the ability to work with and respect others. An interview,
assessment and two references will be required and a Criminal
Records Bureau check completed, before you start the course.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
