Course programme
IRCA ISO 9001 Quality Mangement Systems Auditor/Lead Auditor
This highly practical 5-day course is designed to ensure that your quality management system auditors and lead auditors perform effective and professional audits. It is intended for supplier auditing but the skills learnt are equally applicable to people doing comprehensive internal audits (e.g. cross-divisional).
The course tutor(s) are registered IRCA Lead Auditors with extensive current experience of leading teams in second and third party audits worldwide.
The course is designed in a series of modules which develop a comprehensive understanding of the ISO 9000 series of standards and the international guide for quality and environmental auditing practice – ISO 19011. The first day is devoted to this using accelerated learning which involves the delegates working in small groups on carefully designed and facilitated exercises to explore the standards.
On Days Two – For delegates learn and practice professional audit management through a series of build up exercises covering definition of the audit scope, audit planning, analysis of supplier documentation, development of checklists, construction of an audit programme, carrying out the opening meeting, performing the audit (using structured interviewing and observation), following audit trails (forward and trace-back), objective reporting of the adequate issues, non-conformities and opportunities for improvement, carrying out a closing meeting, audit follow up and routine surveillance.
Towards the end of Day there is a mock examination exercise in the style of the final IRCA set examination, the results of which are analysed for further learning potential. Day 5 is devoted to consolidating the learning to ensure every delegate has the maximum potential to pass the exam. We can usually provide the results within one week of the course finish.
