  • Explanation of what the environment is and the basic constituents of an EMS
  • How an EMS can help
  • Overview of content of ISO 14001 and the benefits
  • The registration process
  • Sources of help
  • Where to start to implement an EMS, getting commitment
  • Identifying and evaluating significance of environmental aspects
  • Setting objectives and targets
  • Identifying legislation, including the more common legislation
  • Monitoring and measuring performance both for environmental improvement and maintenance of standards
  • Communication and training
  • Setting and reviewing an environmental policy
  • Emergency procedures
