Short course
In Bedfordshire ()
Description
-
Type
Short course
The course begins with a comprehensive overview of theoretical and normative frameworks which have informed the evolving literature on international security studies dating back to some of the earlier philosophical thinking in this area. Students will also be provided with comprehensive exposure to trends in international development and conflict resolution, with links to more contemporary thinking on state building and state formation. The role of international and sub-regional organisations and state actors and an overview of mainstream development theory and concepts will also be covered, enabling students to draw evidence-based linkages between both the security and development disciplines. Lastly, a framework is developed which serves as a rubric for the course and with which the students can locate each individual course.
