Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You should have a real interest in the practical application of new technologies in a work environment.

How will I be assessed?
Most Principal Learning units are internally assessed to national assessment standards. They take the form of written assignments, practical exercises and case studies. Two units are assessed externally, through project-based examinations. Functional skills is a new qualification in employability skills, including Mathematics, English and Information Technology. Additional/specialist learning may be a traditionally assessed A Level, or a selection of short courses in IT-related subjects.

What can I do afterwards?
This course is designed to provide students with a specialist qualification in Information Technology (IT) and Business, in preparation for either employment or further study at Higher Education Level. It can qualify learners for entry to many degree courses, dependent on the grades achieved. The qualification is also well recognised by the IT industry as valuable training when seeking employment in this area.

Are there any additional costs involved?
You must be prepared to buy two text books for this course. You will also need a USB memory device and a pair of headphones for use with a personal computer.
