About this course
Students must already know how to build a PC from components, how to partition a hard disk and install Windows. This course is particularly suited for someone progressing from our Basic PC Maintenance course or an NCFE 9254 Certificate.

Course Aims:

Course Content:
Installing, configuring and upgrading PC systems & laptops
Diagnosing and trouble Shooting
Preventive maintenance
Motherboard / processors / memory
Printers
Networking including wireless security
Operating system fundamentals for Windows 2000/XP and use of DOS.
There is a necessary heavy emphasis on knowledge but this is reinforced with practical examples and activities where possible.
Progression:
Successful candidates can progress onto the Cisco CCNA (a professional qualification in networking and operating Cisco routing equipment in the workplace).
