Course programme
Students have the opportunity of completing the 90 credit Diploma in IT. Students can progress to a 2nd year and study either the National Diploma or Extended Diploma. Students completing 2 years have the opportunity of progressing to a university degree or Foundation Degree, to BTEC HNC’s and HND’s, or to employment.
A strong emphasis is placed on skills development. During the course of this one year programme you will undertake a host of activities aimed at developing your skills in a computing environment.
The course is made up of Mandatory and Specialist Units. Depending on which qualification you follow you will study either 6 or 9 units in total the first year, with the opportunity to convert to 12 or 18 units the following year, this gives UCAS points and is equivalent to 2 or 3 GCE A Levels, dependent on the final grade.
