The increasing complexity of Information Systems and their importance in the management and competitiveness of companies poses new challenges for Information Technology (IT) professionals.

IT professionals are now required to have more in-depth management knowledge in order to identify the needs of the business and select the most appropriate solutions to achieve the desired objectives.

On the other hand, those responsible for the IT area with basic training in Management are required to possess IT knowledge.
Given the rapid evolution in IT and Management, it is fundamental to update the knowledge and skills of professionals in order to lead the process of digital transformation of organizations, thus contributing to its success.

This postgraduate course aims to provide professionals with the most up-to-date information in the area of management and IT, allowing the alignment of IT objectives with business strategy, contributing to the improvement of the organization's performance and, consequently, its results.

The skills acquired by IT Management Graduate students will enable them to lead the process of digital transformation of their organizations through the innovative use of IT and the latest management knowledge and techniques.

The faculty is staffed by professionals with extensive experience in various fields of IT and by academic experts in different areas of knowledge. Post-Graduation also counts on the support of several associations and companies, with a set of initiatives (seminars, visits, workshops, etc.) that will complement the teaching experience.

The program is aimed at professionals with training in the areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Economics and Management or in other related fields, in particular, performing the following functions:
Medium and senior managers of small, medium or large companies related to the IT area.
Responsible for IT departments wishing to acquire management knowledge.
Members of top management bodies responsible for IT that feel the need to acquire or update their knowledge.

Course programme

The school calendar is as follows:

1st quarter: September to December 2017 2nd quarter: January to March 2018 3rd quarter: April to July 2018


Schedule

Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


Curricular structure

The program will last 270 hours of face-to-face training, distributed over three quarters.


Master Classes

Throughout the year Porto Business School organizes three specific Master Classes for students, with national and international speakers. These sessions, lasting 3 hours each, will take place on Saturday afternoons, once a quarter.


Project

Project applied to solve a practical challenge integrating the knowledge obtained throughout the program.
