What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have a Level 1 Certificate for IT Users and Basic Skills at Level 1.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

Reading: You can read and understand the main points and ideas in different types of writing - for example magazine articles, newspaper stories or short stories. You can understand main ideas from a report, read from a website or college text book, etc. You can use what you have read to help you write an essay or make decisions. Writing: You can present information in different ways. You can use grammar, spelling and punctuation correctly. You can present your thoughts and ideas in a clear way that people can understand.
Interpret Information: You can read and understand tables, charts, graphs and diagrams; read and understand numbers used in different ways; read scales on familiar measuring equipment using everyday units; make accurate observations; identify suitable calculations to get the results you need for your task. Carry out calculations: You can add and subtract, with whole numbers and simple decimals, with or without a calculator; work to the level of accuracy you have been told to use; multiply and divide a simple decimal by a whole number with or without a calculator; understand and calculate simple fractions and percentages; work out the area and volum of rectangular-based shapes; use scale on diagrams; use ratio and proportion; find the average or mean of up to 10 items; find the range for up to 10 items.
What qualification will I receive?
You will receive the City & Guilds IT users NVQ (ITQ) 4322 Level 2.
Where can it lead?
You can go to study City & Guilds IT users NVQ (ITQ) 4322 Level 3 or Advanced Diploma for IT Users Level 3.
What will I study?
Subjects you will study include Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, PowerPoint, Internet, email and Web Page Design. The ITQ can be tailored to meet your requirements.
How will I be taught?
You will attend lectures and practical sessions in the College's IT Suites using guides and on-line materials.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by simply building up a portfolio of evidence to meet the requirements of each unit, via practical or you can use units from other qualifications including e-Quals, to count towards City&Guilds ITQ. To complete the full ITQ qualification,candidates will need to achieve a minimum total of points:100 points for level 2.
What support is available while I am on the course?
Standard Text as follows: - Students are supported by their tutor through the duration of the course. The College's extensive learning resources are available to all learners. There is substantial language support for students whose first language is not English.
