Course Overview

Course Structure
Eight units: three core units, two compulsory Personal Skills units and three optional units.

Core units:

* Starting Work in the IT Industry*

* Working in the IT Industry*

* Developing Skills in IT



Personal Skills units:

* Personal Effectiveness

* Social Responsibility at Work

* Financial Management



Optional units:

* PC Systems

* Using the Internet

* IT Applications

* Digital Devices


*denotes a unit assessed using an externally set Project Assessment.

Essential Skills:

* Literacy

* Numeracy

Adult Numeracy

Assessments/Examinations
The core and optional units are graded P (pass), M (merit) or D (distinction). The Personal Skills units are designated Pass or Fail.

Cost / Equipment
Students aged 19 or over (at the start of the course) will have to pay registration costs.

A£30 (non-refundable) payment towards the cost of stationery and consumables).

Free tuition is available to those in receipt of certain means tested benefits or to their un-waged dependants.

If you are 19 years ofage or over, at the start of the course, the tuition fee's may be payable for£495 per year.
