Italian group course in Florence
-
I am not good at languages and I still do not know how Istituto Galilei managed to teach a thickhead American like me. My wife is Italian and I managed to act as an interpreter between the two families. I really want to thank you as I never imagined I would be able to speak so fluently.

Daniela Testa
School director
Daniela Testa has many years of experience in teaching the Italian language to students from all over the world. She is the school's director of Istituto Galilei, the langauge School located in the centre of Florence.
Course programme
The program is open to all students, with no restrictions regarding age or nationality. With 6 different course levels, we can accommodate a broad range of student needs; from introducing beginners to the language, to developing the knowledge and skills of those who have studied Italian previously.
Classes are composed by students of different cultures, nationalities and mother tongues so as to stimulate interesting conversations and to enrich the relationships between all participants. Maximum number allowed in class is 12 students, but the average is usually around 7.
Our approach to teaching Italian is direct. From the first day of class, Italian becomes the language between the teacher and the students and among the students. The communication in Italian is pervasive and therefore students automatically develop their ability to understand and speak. The small number of students in class helps to highly improve the performance of each participant.
Additional information
We use a flexible and personalized teaching approach, taking into consideration that mother-tongue, age, interests, study habits and motivation make a difference from person to person in terms of time and ways of learning.
