With training in shampooing, conditioning and cutting and styling men’s hair, you’ll gain the confidence to work in industry or start your own small business. With client consultation, health and safety and creating an image a big part of the course, you’ll feel confident in starting your career as a barber.

Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required however a good standard of English, maths and communication skills are needed.

Course Duration
One year part time - two evenings per week or 1 day per week.

Skills and Benefits
This qualification gives the related knowledge and understanding required to perform the Barbering skills. You will gain skills and knowledge in the development of their wider skills in a Barbering setting such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving, technical skills personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment in the Barbering industry.

Mandatory Units
Client Consultation for Hair Services Cut Men’s Hair Cut Facial Hair Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon

There are no optional units on this qualification.

Course Assessment
Practical Assessments, exams, portfolio of evidence and multiple choice question papers.

Progression
Level 3 Barbering or Employment.
