To find out more click here About Reflexology Reflexology is an ancient healing practice, that is a holistic means of physically, emotionally, and spiritually balancing the body
Reflexology is often applied directly to the feet, hands, or ears—but can be applied at various regions throughout the body
Reflexology and Your Energy Centres Reflexology varies greatly from standard massage
During your session your practitioner focuses on key pressure points that will address head-to-toe symptoms or concerns
Since pressure points and nerve endings are directly connected to the muscles and organs throughout your entire body—a multitude of symptoms can be treated by focusing only on the feet, hands, or ears
Your practitioner will also work to release any blockage in your energy centres or chakras—supporting your body’s natural healing abilities
The Benefits Of Reflexology Reflexology promotes internal balance, but most turn to this alternative modality to treat specific ailments
While reflexology can address multiple health and wellness concerns, some of the most common treatment solutions include: Targeted pain management—neck, back, menstrual, joint, nerve, and more Improved digestion Increased energy and metabolism Improved organ function Natural treatment for headaches and migraines Reduce stress and anxiety Promote relaxation Improved focus and clarity Remove toxins and boost immunity Balance mind/body/spirit Improved circulation Used in conjunction with treatment for a variety of chronic conditions, physical ailments, cancer, and other diseases Is Reflexology Safe For Pregnancy and Labour? Reflexology is safe for women who are trying to conceive, are pregnant, and nursing—and can even be used while in labour
As with any type of traditional or alternative medicine, women must inform their practitioner that they are pregnant or nursing
Reflexology has a multitude of fertility benefits for both men and women
Fertility—reflexology can be used to promote fertility for both men and women
Stress and anxiety play a large role in infertility for both sexes and regular reflexology sessions will reduce both physical and emotional stress
Reflexology also helps to regulate hormones in men and women, as well as stimulate both egg and sperm production
Pregnancy—pregnancy places a lot of stress on a woman’s body, and reflexology helps to alleviate much of this stress
It is also an holistic and prescription-free complement to health and wellness
Treatment can be used to address: Morning sickness Pain and general discomfort Pregnancy-related digestive concerns Swelling in breasts and ankles Lack of energy Labour—reflexology can also be used to induce labour, accelerate the birthing process and to naturally manage labour pain

There are many benefits to the ancient healing practice of reflexology
It is an excellent addition to your personal holistic health plan and a nice complement to every alternative practitioner’s healing modalities
Students are taken through the history and philosophy of this age-old therapy

Also a vital part of their training is the underpinning knowledge and skills required to successfully perform a Reflexology treatment
Case studies are also required to be completed for this award
The case studies form the internal assessment and should be assessed throughout the training by the tutor using the ITEC Case Study Guidance sheet
The case studies are then verified by an ITEC Examiner at the end of the course during the visit for invigilating the practical examination
The case studies ensure that a variety of clients must be consulted and treated in all the above areas and the outcomes of the treatments must be documented in order to gain experience of working with a variety of clients and conditions whilst candidates are still under supervision
Detailed rationales for the type of Reflexology treatment and outcomes must be shown, as well as after care
