ITEC Diploma in Massage
Syllabus includes:
- History, theory and philosophy of massage
- Contra indications and reactions to treatment.
- Client Care.
- Classical movements involved in body massage.
- Psychological and physical effects of massage
- The holistic approach
- Professional presentation
- Referral procedure
Small classes of 12 students – 2 tutors for the practical sessions with 8 students or more.
The course will include project work and case studies
ITEC Anatomy & Physiology
This is may be taken at the same timeas the Holistic Massage Course but may also be taken separately
The Anatomy and Physiology award is the ‘foundation’ upon which all other Complementary, Beauty and Sports Therapy awards are based. It is comprised of units encompassing all systems of the body. It is a level 3 qualification and is a qualification in its own right:
- Skeletal system
- Endocrine system
- Muscular system
- Respiratory system
- Skin
- Digestive system
- The Cell
- Urinary system
- Circulatory and Lymphatic systems
- Reproductive system
- Neurological system
Each unit requires students to understand the structure, function and main diseases and disorders of each system.
The examination is set by ITEC and is a 1 hour multiple choice theory paper with 50 questions.
