Japanese Beginners level 2
Your Course
This course will suit beginners who have already studied for one term or have studied 'Japanese for Busy People Book 1' up to lesson 6. The aim of the course is to develop your confidence and ability to communicate effectively and express opinions in authentic situations such as social occasions, leisure time, in shops and everyday conversation. Hiragana characters and some Kanji will be introduced.Ideally students should be familiar with Katakana characters but support will be offered to students new to it. Basic grammar will be explained to help understand the structure of the language.
The course book is 'Japanese for Busy People 1' revised edition [AJALT] [KANA] version.
This course feeds into Beginners Level 3 in the Summer Term 2010. During the Beginners Level 2 course students will take a short internal assessment in speaking or listening.This will help to prepare them for the OCR Asset language external test that will be taken at the end of the beginners' year.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of your course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Talk about your weekly schedule
· Learn and recognise hiragana and some kanji.
· Listen to a number of Japanese real-life conversations
· Talk about activities and express some opinions in simple conversations
· Understand the basic grammatical structure of Japanese
Your Tutor
Rosa Wunner has been learning Japanese for more than ten years. She studied Japanese language and literature in Berlin, Tokyo, Kyoto and Cambridge, graduating with a MA degree. Ms Wunner has also worked in Japan for an international corporation. She has been teaching Japanese for over six years to students of all levels and backgrounds.

Tuition fees: £ 95
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
