Your Course
This course will suit people who have already studied Japanese for one year or who have finished studying the text book "Japanese For Busy People 1", and can read and write Hiragna and some Katakana words. The aim of the course is to develop your confidence and ability to communicate effectively and express opinions in authentic situations such as social occasions and everyday conversation. The focus of the course is on speaking and listening. Katakana characters and some kanji will be introduced. Basic grammar will be explained to help understand the structure of the language.
The course book is?Japanese for Busy People 2 ?Revised Edition (AJALT - Association for Japanese Language Teaching) from lesson 4.
During this course students will take a short internal assessment in speaking Japanese at Preliminary level. This will help to prepare them for the OCR Asset language test that will be taken at the end of the Improvers' year.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Express opinions in simple conversations
· Be able to ask and talk about experiences
· Make comparisons, seek advice and use connectives
· Gain understanding of more complex grammatical structures, including the use of the present progressive and habitual action, and sentence endings which carry a variety of nuances (-n desu) and the use of 'narimasu' (became/has become)
· Learn and recognise katakana and some kanji

Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
