Course content:
A day of indulgence when, with no prior experience, we emerge ourselves working with Precious Metal Clay to create a pendant and a pair of silver earrings embedded with zircon diamonds.
During the day you will learn all about the different metal clays available and how each clay type can be used and fired. While making your jewellery, you will learn how to roll, shape, texture, decorate and cut the clay for your designs.
Once the Clay is dry, you will learn how to ensure you have a professional finish prior to firing it. We will use a gas torch to fire the earrings and make the wires and a kiln to fire the pendant.
This process converts the clay into 99% fine silver. Our silver jewellery will then be burnished and polished ready for you to wear home. The cost of materials, clay, zircons, and wire for earring hooks will be approx 25 payable to the tutor.
