This course will teach the basic skills required to work with metals.

Course content

The following may be taught during the course:

The course will teach the basic skills required to work with metal,

Marking, cutting, piercing and soldering will be demonstrated and learners will practice jewellery making techniques.

The tutor can supply some of the metals for a fee required for making jewellery in silver and most students will complete one or two small silver items during the course.

Produce a silver ring with a single stone setting or a chain link bracelet, basic polishing, health and safety, introduction to tools and equipment, piercing and sawing techniques, ring making techniques and stone setting techniques.

Please note the course content may be adapted and vary according to the needs and abilities of the students enrolled.

Payment options: UK/EU Fee : £100.00 Overseas Fee : £160.00 Part-time enrolments are subject to an additional annual registration fee of £10 payable once only per academic year (exemptions may apply).
