Course Content
The programme is offered as an Apprenticeship and involves four days a week training in a construction environment and one day attendance at College. Training will involve using traditional wood-working tools, as well as specialised power or hand tools, for cutting, shaping, smoothing and finishing. The Apprentice will learn how to follow drawings, plans and written or spoken instructions. The additional qualification Abrasive Wheels Certificate is also required. Key Skills will also need to be achieved, as well as developing a portfolio of work.
Progression
Many Apprentices progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship, or may go on to higher level qualifications.
