Summary

The purpose of this half day course is to offer staff who coordinate meaningful activities to service users a further understanding into person centred approaches in the planning and provision of activities. The course consists of 3 hours of group learning. This is an ideal course for a chain of homes who have more than one or two activities coordinators.

Who should attend?

Activities coordinators who plan and/or deliver activities in care homes, day centres or advocate on a one to one basis.

Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to

 Understand the requirements the CQC expects of the coordinator

 Understand more about activities and dementia care
 Learn more about what person-centred means in activities
 Learn more about using assessment techniques
 Learn how to keep ideas flowing by using PC life themes
 Develop better skills in the planning process
