The aim of the course is to teach you all the skills you require to enable you to fit a kitchen. We will teach you from the design and planning stage, through fitting base and wall units, fitting work tops and plumbing in sinks, to finishes like fitting cornices, plinths and pelmets. We will teach you the correct and safe way to use hand and electric tools.

Course programme

Kitchen Fitting
On this course you will be taught to fit a new kitchen. We will take you from the design and planning stage through fitting base and wall units, counter tops, and sink plumbing,  to finishes such as cornices, pelmets and plinths. You will be taught the safe use of the hand and electrical tools you will need to use to give a kitchen a professional finish.


  • This is a good all-round course where you will be taught:
  • Kitchen design and planning to make the best possible use of available space. This will include the ' working triangle' to give you the best possible use of work centres
  • Planning for electric services and plumbing such as wall sockets lighting etc
  • The Health and Safety needed for installing a new kitchen
  • About the tools you will need to complete a kitchen fitting project and the safe use of hand and electrical tools
  • Fitting and aligning base and wall units
  • Cutting and fitting worktops using a router, biscuit citter and jig first using plain chipboard to become familiar with the machines, and then moving onto real worktops
  • Cutting out for sinks, hobs etc
  • Cutting, mitring and fitting cornices, pelmets and plinths
  • Fitting and alignment of doors and drawers
  • Silicone sealing to worktops
  • Plumbing to connect sinks to the water supply and waste
