Kitchen Fitting

Upon completion you will receive a Guild of Master Craftsmen certificate of competence.   You will also receive a ASET Level 1 National Award.

You will cover the following units:

• Identify and use tools, equipment and materials used for kitchen fitting.
• Measuring, planning and typical layouts.
• Dealing with corners and uneven walls.
• Planning for electrical sockets, water pipes and waste, dishwashers, fridges, freezers and extractor fan hood.
• Installation of base and wall units.
• Scribing and cutting to meet uneven walls.
• WORKTOPS-Cutting out of sink and cooker hob recesses, mitre cuts, etc.
• Measuring and cutting mitre joints, and fitting plinths, pelmets and cornice.
• Fitting and levelling doors.
• Understanding products, their suitable uses, terminology and jargon used.
• Understanding the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise.  You will also be provided with support after completing your course and you are able to contact your tutor, email or call into the training centre to discuss your queries.
• Supporting information on business start-up, this is provided if you require and is additional to your course contents.  Whilst you are on the course we concentrate on plastering but you are free to discuss business start-up with staff in breaks etc and we can provide you with supporting notes.  We do have separate sessions available from 2 hours to 3 days in duration at no extra cost.
• Telephone, email and drop in support relating to course contents and business start-up, quoting, etc.

 NOTE: Upon completing the course we will also confirm that you have met the competences required for a Construction Site Operatives CSCS Card.
