Perfect your knife skills as we teach you how to slice, chop, dice, julienne ect at our knife skills class!
Our experienced chefs will welcome you into our family-run kitchen and teach you how to properly use knives, from the proper way to hold it, to the many various techniques for preparing a range of dishes!
By the end of the class, you will be able to sit down in front of a delicious meal that you have prepared and cooked, each practicing a different knife technique, giving you a fantastic insight into this foundation of cookery and food prep!

Our family-run cookery school puts its emphasis on creating relaxed and fun classes! Our aim is to teach people to understand food, to move away from the recipe-book, so they can whip-up delicious meals from whatever they find in the fridge!

She infamously taught at The Grange Cookery School for seven years before The Avenue. As the absolute driving force of the kitchen, this Mother Duck engages and educates her students with undying character and warmth. With a knack for trailblazing twists on classical dishes, Diana simply loves food and is identified for her delectable culinary creations that will amuse and delight your palette
Richard Horsford
Owner & Teacher
Richard is Diana’s son, making The Avenue very much a family affair. His previous experience has included Chalet Hosting, prestigious Corporate Events and working as a chef in the South of France. Richard is a self-confessed Foodie, with an interest in modern cooking techniques. His flair for experimental cookery will certainly broaden your culinary horizons. Working extremely hard to share his enthusiasm with the students and push out the traditional boundaries, he is the youth and energy in the Kitchen.

It is all well and good producing great flavoured food but how about the look and the ease of cooking? This knife skills class will teach you about knife sharpening and how to look after your blades of the most used knives, how to hold them, what they are used for and how to use them effectively in order to beautifully chop/slice/puree/julienne/dice/chiffonade/brunoise your ingredients.
You will start with a demonstration and will then get a lot of practice while making the below menu. We have chosen a menu that entails different knife skills in order for you to get a lot of practice.
After mastering the art you will get to sit down and before eating your delicious AND beautiful food you will get to admire your art work!
