2. Course description CYQs are qualifications which enable you to work as a fitness instructor in the Leisure Industry. They can allow you entry to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). This is a foundation fitness qualification which will lead straight into employment in a gym, leisure centre or self-employment. This qualification is aimed at the learner who wants to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry as a fitness instructor in the context of gym-based exercise.

3. Entry requirements You should be at least 17 years old, with a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths. You will be required to provide evidence of your qualifications at the point of enrolment and you must obtain a high level of interest and degree of exercise knowledge/experience. If you do not meet the entry requirements for the course and would still like to enrol, you will be required to sit a mock paper and achieve 20/40 marks and will also undertake a telephone interview. If you are successful in this process, it is likely your place on the course will be accepted. If you are not successful in this process you will be asked to gain some further knowledge and experience before enrolling onto the next course. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5.
