Course programme
On this practical, outdoors course, you will learn a range of gardening skills through working in a community garden and participating in a gardening project for 2 days each week.
You will also take part in class-based lessons. Throughout this course, you will have lots of opportunity to develop your ICT, Maths and English skills.
No specific qualifications are required, but you need to be prepared to work outdoors and get your hands muddy sometimes!
You will complete a portfolio of work.
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve the Edexcel Entry Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Independence and Work as well as the Edexcel Entry Level 3 Award in Land-Based Studies.
You will also achieve internal qualifications that recognise the other skills that you develop.
Following the course, you can move into paid or voluntary work, study a range of other subjects at Entry Level 3, or progress to further training.
