Byron is a qualified interpreter working for Sign Solutions as Head Interpreter. He is an experienced tutor who will be the lead tutor on our Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting courses commencing in 2011.

Course programme

This two-day course will focus on the processes and skills required for interpreting between two languages.

This course would suit any working interpreter wanting to improve/develop their ability to interpret more effectively and efficiently between two languages. It will look at the many processes involved in working between two languages and why the task can be complex and demanding, also exploring some of the theories and models around interpreting and the range of strategies for coping with difficulties that may arise when interpreting.

This course will cover a range of topics including:

· Review of language processing models

· Processing exercises

· Review of coping strategies

· Coping strategy exercise sessions
