You will receive driving tuition each day round these areas to help you reach the standard required to pass your L.G.V. test at the end of your course.

We at G.T.A. normaly use Grimsby L.G.V. Test Centre but should you wish to use a different Test Centre this can be accommodated for

Practical Driving Test: At the end of your Driver Training Course you will take the Driving Standards Agency Test at your chosen Test Centre. This test includes the compulsory manoeuvres and practical driving elements you have been taught throughout your course.

This test lasts between 1¼ and 1½ hours and is conducted by a Driving Standards Agency Examiner. On completion of the test the examiner will inform you straight away of your result and will give you a debrief of any areas of your test he feels are necessary.

GENERAL

All driving is on a one to one basis unless otherwise requested by the customer, but we can only cater for a maximum two delegates in the lorry cab at any one time.

DRIVER TRAINING AREA

We believe our Driver Training Manoeuvring Area is one of the best in the surrounding area and simulates the area you will use on your Driving Test at the end of the course.

INSTRUCTORS

All our instructors have many years experience within Driver Training and all are qualified Driving Standards Agency L.G.V. Instructors.

VEHICLES

Both our Rigid (Cat ‘C’) and Articulated Lorries (C+E) are Mercedes and we have used them from new in 2007. We have found they provide you with a very realistic and comfortable experience throughout your training.

PASS RATE

We are very proud of our pass rate, which is higher than the national average on these types of vehicle.

COURSE DURATION

This is dependent on a delegates skills and experience which can be determined by a Free Driving Assessment which we carry out at a time to suit you.

The assessment lasts about ½ an hour and gives you the opportunity to meet the instructors and drive the vehicles before you decide to book the course. Having taken this free assessment it means you arrive for the first day of your course more relaxed because you have already met your instructor and this can only benefit your learning experience.

An average course duration is between 4 and 5 days but obviously this is dependent on each individual.

END TESTS

At the end of your course you will take the Driving Standards Agency Practical Test. Once this test is passed you will then have to take the Driver C.P.C. Practical Test on a separate day to your Driving Test.

The Driver C.P.C. Test is a half day training course at Doncaster G.T.A. with a test at the D.S.A. Driving Test Centre, this test lasts approximately ½ hour.
