Course programme
We will be following the textbook Reading Latin - a textbook designed for adults learners, with texts based on original Latin sources. We will start at Section 1A, and we will read adapted texts of works by the comic writer Plautus. We shall be studying the conjugation of verbs, the declension of nouns and adjectives.
The course is based on a traditional approach, and aims at a high level of student interaction combining whole-class discussion work with pair and group work. There will be instruction on Latin grammar, grammatical exercises, and translation – combined with pronunciation work, and listening to and reading the texts aloud. You will be expected to do two to three hours’ homework per week.Additional information
