Law is both a fascinating and challenging subject. It affects every aspect of our daily lives. It is an ideal subject for someone with a logical mind, who likes research and attention to detail.



You will require 5 GCSEs at Grades A*- C including English Language. You do not need to have studied Law at GCSE.


You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.


At AS you will learn about the legal system of England and Wales. You will cover the structures and processes and alternatives to the courts, look at sources of funding and the impact of morality and human rights. You will learn about the legal personnel – judges, barristers and solicitors. In addition, you will study the sources of law, judicial precedent, statutory interpretation and E.U, Human Rights and law reform bodies.
