Introduction
This major subject areas are balanced and integrated throughout the course.

The course will allow part exemption from the qualifying law degree for the purposes of qualifying as a solicitor or barrister. Alternatively it can also provide you with a wider ranging business qualification that adds flexibility to this course of study.

Teaching and Assessment
Assessment varies from subject to subject but includes essays, projects, group work, in-class tests and formal examinations. Our varied assessment methods are focused upon the development of transferable skills which will provide immediate benefit in your future career.

Career Opportunities
The course helps you to pursue a career within the legal professions or across a range of business and public sector organisations. This may include the police service, central and local government. The course also helps to develop the skills required by company secretaries.

The course enables you to develop subject knowledge and transferable skills that are highly desirable to employers.

Placement
The work placement year provides you with an opportunity to improve your future prospects and develop practical skills and experience in the workplace. Opting for a placement year can vastly improve your chances of a better degree classification.

Business School students who completed a placement year were three times more likely to achieve a 2:1 or 1st degree award than those students who didn't (TQEF Survey 2006).

Our Business Placement Unit is dedicated to sourcing relevant placement opportunities for students and works with a wide range of local and national companies. Overseas placements in Europe and further afield may also be available.

Special Features
Professional Body Accreditation
The programme is a non-qualifying law degree but gives exemptions in relation to the requirements of the Law Society and the Bar Council. The law modules will give students who wish to continue to obtain a recognised law qualification the ability to go onto the Law LLB(Hons) Accelerated Courses or the Graduate Diploma in Law.
