About this course
GCSEs in Mathematics and English at grade C or above, 120 UCAS tariff points, BTEC National, ACCESS to Higher Education Certificate or equivalent. Mature students without formal qualifications will also be considered.

What will I be learning?
You will study various aspects of the law and one of the distinctive features of the course is the inclusion of business modules to accompany the required law module. Modules will include: Year one - English legal system; general principles of liability; study skills; employment law. Year two - operations management; contract law; tort law.
How will I learn?
Teaching and learning methods include lectures, tutorials, practical workshops and presentations. The programme is based on student-centred learning through which you can develop a full approach to and take responsibility for your own learning.
Throughout the course, you receive tuition and guidance from module leaders and personal tutors will provide regular individual tutorials and advise on progress and learning strategies. There will also be a variety of assessments throughout the course which will include: group and individual presentations; essays; case studies; reports and examinations.
What else might I want to know?
This programme has been designed to meet the needs of both you and employers. Skills modules are included to help develop the skills necessary to complete the qualification and for future work situations. You will also undertake work-based learning. You will work with local employers and develop employability skills in your chosen work area.
Visits to local courts will also be an integral part of the Foundation Degree in Law.
What can I do afterwards?
You could progress to the BSc (Hons) Law with Business degree at the University of Plymouth. Alternatively, you may wish to seek employment in the legal world. Your broad knowledge of the legal and business environments will signpost opportunities to you in a range of work areas.
