Develop your higher level skills by distance learning while continuing to work in your current health and social care role. Our web-based learning environment means you can study from anywhere, at any time. On graduation, you could do one further year to top-up to a full BSc (Hons) degree.
This course is ideal if you already work in health and social care and want to study while you work. It will develop your higher level skills and enable you to perform better in your current role, or to lead teams of staff from different disciplines, or to apply for more senior roles.
This course is suitable if you:
- work as a supervisor or team leader
- work in first-line management
- have just started working in a leadership role.
Our students come from all sorts of workplaces. They might include managers of GP practices or residential care homes, healthcare assistants in the NHS or the independent sector, nurses, medics in the Army or Royal Air Force, and administrative staff in the NHS. This diversity leads to interesting discussions.
You’ll study entirely online, so you can learn from anywhere, at any time, without needing to come to Anglia Ruskin. This means you’ll need access to a computer and the internet, plus basic IT skills. You’ll use our virtual learning environment as well as our digital library, which provides access to electronic journals, e-books, databases and much more.
You’ll also do work-based learning in your current setting. As a result, your study will be directly relevant to your job even though you’ll be investigating wider leadership and management themes.
You’ll prepare for the course online in advance with the support of a helpful tutor. You’ll also take part in an online induction which encourages socialising with fellow students.
