Learn a new massage technique FHT Accredited course

Would you like to learn a new massage skill? On site massage (seated acupressure) combines techniques taken from shiatsu (acupressure), Swedish & Advanced massage. The result is a unique massage experience that can be both invigorating and energising and one which is thoroughly relaxing both mentally and physically. You will learn techniques to relax and soothe your client yet refresh them so that they are ready for a day at the office.

The purpose of the course is to learn how to competently provide seated massage - known as On site or seated acupressure massage to clients in a corporate environment or at events etc.

The massage is performed with the client fully dressed and sitting in a lightweight chair - treatment can be from just a few minutes to half an hour or more depending on the situation and the client. This is a very versatile and effective massage skill which can open up many opportunities for you.

Additionally, this is a MUST-HAVE therapy skill if you are looking to do corporate work/festivals etc. The center can also arrange to put you in touch with a company which arranges backstage massages for artists and performers around the UK.

Course programme

ON SITE MASSAGE (SEATED ACUPRESSURE)

FHT Accredited

This is an accredited, level 3 practitioner course. To attend you must have a recognised massage qualification e.g. holistic massage, swedish, aromatherapy, IHM, sports etc - please contact the center if you’re unsure.

On Site massage is performed with the client fully clothed using a massage chair – the perfect therapy for corporate work.

We will cover:
• The History and Origins of On site Massage
• Choosing suitable massage chairs
• On site (seated acupressure) massage techniques
• Acupressure points and their relevance
• Benefits of On Site Massage, esp. For stress relief
• Contraindications - when not to treat
• After care advice
• A short routine and longer 30 minute routine

On Site Massage is 2 day course and practitioner certificates are awarded upon successful completion of your case studies as below, plus some coursework to be completed at home.

Please note that this was originally a 3 day course, but in view of the current economic climate and how difficult it is for therapists at the moment, we have reduced it to a 2 day course but have introduced the coursework mentioned above to ensure that the full course syllabus is covered - so a bit more work at home, to be done at your own pace - but a reduced course fee making this a more affordable therapy qualification to attain and your tutor will be on hand not only during the course but afterward for help and advice.

At the end of day 2 you will be required to take a short written and practical assessment to ensure your competency before commencing your case studies.

Case Studies: Further practice will be required in the form of 10 case studies (10 separate individuals treated just once - five single treatments for relaxation and five single treatments for invigoration).

A comprehensive On site Massage course manual covering the contents of the entire weekend will be supplied for future reference.
