The Learning Disability Awareness course aims to build on your understanding of what it means to have a learning disability and your experience in this area of work. The course will suggest lots of ideas about how you can help to support people with learning disabilities.
The course is suitable for staff working in a variety of settings. It will be useful whether you are employed in a health or social care, a community or an education setting or whether you work in a paid or voluntary role. The effect of learning disabilities throughout the lifespan is considered, but there is a particular emphasis on children, adolescents, and young adults.

The Level 3 in Learning Disabilities Awareness is divided into six comprehensive modules. Module 1: Learning Disability Overview

Course Assessments
The Learning Disabilities Awareness course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor following Standard guidelines. This means that your qualification will be awarded according to your performance on assessments rather than by taking an exam.
We send the full course out, you then read through the course in your own time and complete the assignments which you send to your tutor for marking. There is no word count for these assignments. However, one sentence answers will be rejected and you will have to re-submit it for marking.
Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by ABC Awards, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme.
