Understand where duties & responsibilities are set out in ACoP L8. Review types of water systems, and their potential for legionella. Describe the conditions required to allow legionella bacteria to proliferate within a water system. Understand how to quanify risk and the importance of identifying people who may be more affected by legionella, and those who could be more vunerable. How to plan, record and report on risk assessments. Know how to monitor and review the assessments. Suitable for: Personnel designated as the responsible person for the management of water systems. Managers overseeing water hygiene contractors. Facilities Managers. Maintenance / Health & Safety personnel looking to become competent in legionella control

The L8 ACoP sets out legislative obligations and states that those involved in legionella management "should have such ability, experience, instruction, information, training & resources as to allow them to carry out their tasks."
After successful completion of this course the delegate can be regarded as a competent person.
